We love a good date night and the Suwon Hot Air Balloon date itinerary is one of the best. Although it started off slow, it was packed with beautiful sights, lovely cafes, and the perfect company – each other.
Our Relaxing Day & Night Date
Since we spend our weeks very busy, pouring over student papers, time often gets away from us. When the weekend rolls around we are ready to spend time together doing what we love. Be sure to follow us on Instagram to see our latest adventures in real-time!
It’s important to note this date begins in Pyeongtaek and then we travel to Suwon. If you live in a different area you will want to substitute the first stop for something close to your home. That said let’s go!
We started the morning with a workout to counterbalance the calories we anticipated for the day. On our way out of Pyeongtaek, we stopped @daldal_kong, which we had tried while in quarantine, but we were happy to stop by in person. Since the financiers and the banana pudding were perfections, you should definitely try them. Also, one day, we plan to order one of the amazing cakes.

Small shop that is set up mostly for takeout, which offers banana pudding, cookies, and cakes.
We had places to go and things to eat, today in Suwon. The old fortress wall was still a part of the journey between stops. And we had fun exploring the Suwon inside the fortress walls.

Check the Web Link for current info on performances, fees, etc. The Suwon Fortress is a picturesque location that wraps though the center of the city of Suwon. Although the primary grounds have an entrance fee, much of the wall can be visited and viewed for free (but we recommend paying). There are stunning free performances held in front of the main gate that are highly recommended.
Had an awesome dinner @palddaksan – great drinks, food, music, and ambiance.

Cocktail bar and restaurant with a jazzy open-air vibe. Traditional Korean dishes are elevated to next level eating.
Wrapped up our gastronomic adventures @teited_coffee. The name refers to the word for ‘roof’ in Korean and the drinks and desserts invited us under that roof. However, the yogurt cheesecakes were new and delicious and the signature pistachio latte and pineapple plum latte were just as special.

After dessert, walked the fortress wall at night, making our way to Flying Suwon. This has been on our bucket list since we got here almost three years ago. Tried going for Chad’s b-day exactly 6 months ago but wind prevented us. It was closed earlier today for the same reason…but we made it! (Currently next group in line.)

A stunning and iconic gate in Suwon.
After three years and a few attempts, including earlier today, Flying Suwon finally lifted off ground with us as passengers. Also it was a great night to fly above the Hwaseong Fortress with a bird’s-eye view.
Goodnight, Suwon. Thanks for the fun day!
